Every so often I hold Model Calls at less busy times of the year. In part for various projects I may be working on and sometimes, just to update my Portfolio with a different Photography style or family look. Earlier this year I was collaborating with a Videographer for a personal project and needed a family of four with 1 boy and 1 girl between the ages 5-9….. and so found the Kochels! In exchange for them being my models they received the session and some digital images for free. Win-Win!

It’s only icing on the cake when later those free clients come back and actually want to pay you for your services! What I find in business and life in general is when you give freely without expectation, you always receive something back in return. It may not always be tangible like in this case…sometimes its inner joy, fulfillment a feeling of accomplishment or some other emotion.  But I do believe Karma is a real thing. So it’s always my pleasure to give of my time and talent where I can and for free knowing my life will be blessed later.

Never feel cheated when you give something for free, go out there pay it forward and be grateful you’re in a position to do so.
